Higherlife Co-Founder Strive Masiyiwa Named Among The World’s Greatest Leaders

Higherlife Foundation Co-Founder and Econet Wireless Group Chairman, Strive Masiyiwa was recently named among the world’s top 50 greatest leaders by Fortune Magazine- a renowned magazine that gives in depth analyses of people and ideas that are shaping the business world on a daily basis.

A man who needs no introduction, Mr Masiyiwa was described as one of Africa’s leading shapers and visionary leaders. His prolific contributions to Africa’s digital evolution and education through his foundations have won Mr Masiyiwa numerous awards and accolades.

Mr Masiyiwa is a leading business voice who serves on the board of numerous internationally recognised companies such as Unilever and UN Secretary General’s Advisory Board for Sustainable Energy. He has spearheaded many ground breaking contributions in a number of areas outside of business including fighting hunger, poverty, and Ebola as well as his crusading campaigns against corruption in Africa.

Mr Masiyiwa is highly committed to the future of Africa through education and together with his wife they started Higherlife Foundation which has supported over 42,000 African orphans by providing them with scholarships, access to quality education and lifelong development.

The business icon is also member of the Africa Progress Panel, which is a group of 10 influential and highly respected individuals who advocate at the highest levels globally for equitable and sustainable development in Africa through policy change and coalition building.
